Educo Africa seeks to draw out a personal commitment and dedication to living life in a positive way from its participants, so they may realize their fullest potential.

On The Edge... of POSSIBILITY
The word Educo means to ‘draw forth’. Educo Africa’s wilderness based Experiential Learning courses involve a process of healing, growth and training which draws forth the inherent strengths and qualities of each person. This process is delivered in the context of the wilderness and builds confidence, self-worth, courage and personal mastery – encouraging each young person to claim back their lives, and take up their own place as proactive responsible citizens.

Hi everyone at Educo-Africa
I saw an excerpt from an sabc show last night, about a camp led by Coleridge Daniels. The young guys on the camp included a young man who said that he had never had a birthday party. I found myself sobbing at the plight of this young man and the others, and I thank God for your involvement in their lives. I am a retired teacher, living in Knysna, is there any way that I could be of assistance to your organisation? I am in a difficult position myself at present, financially, but will donate when I can. Meantime, you have my admiration and support. Let me know, please, if there is another way to be involved.
Dear Sue,
Let me introduce myself. My name is Alison Lee and I am the Development Manager for Educo Africa. My sincere apologies for this late reply to the comment you posted on the blog! The lady who does our blog left earlier this year and we have not yet had the capacity to keep up to date.
The good news is that we have been very busy delivering interventions similar to those shown in the ‘Dare to Dream’ documentary you saw on SABC back in January.
The experiences of the youth that we work with are indeed heart wrenching and very challenging. I am always amazed at the resilience and determination of the youth to overcome their experiences and circumstances and to try to take a different journey to the one their life seems to be propelling them on.
Many thanks for your offer of help, I think spreading the word about the work we do is always helpful, be an ambassador for us based on what you saw in the documentary. I respect your comments on your financial position, if ever you do wish to donate you can do so through the website or contact me.
We will be doing an individual giving campaign soon, maybe we can send you some info to pass on to any contacts you have who may be interested.
It is always a great support to us hearing encouragement from people like yourself who see the work of Educo Africa and who support us with enouraging messages, thankyou for taking the time to do that.
If you could send me your contact details to alison@educo.org.za I can add you to our newsletter database and keep you updated with the work we are doing with youth at risk.
Many thanks again Sue for your support and I apologise for this very delayed reponse!
Warm Regards
Alison Lee
Hi there
I have a son of 22 years of age who is very interested in joining your organization as a councellor or facilitator.
He lives in Cape town and is eager to talk to someone about this possibility. Who should he contact?
Kind Regards
Irma Fuchs
Hi Irma,
So sorry about the delay in response, we’ve had some challenging times here, but are now back on track! If he is still interested, ask him to please send a CV through to duncan@educo.org.za.
Please ask coalridge to contact me “off air”
anthony
So sorry Anthony, but Coalridge no longer works with us.
